You can request a flat bed when you call CAA.

CAA is the best choice, i would sign up for them if I were you, trust me i learned the hard way. didnt have CAA a couple months back and i was stranded on the side of 427 for 3 hours because no other tow truck company could send a flat bed any sooner. and i saw 4 CAA ones drive by while i waited..

Check Canadian tire roadside. Comparing CAA to crappy tire you'd be surprised.

Waterpump blew on me once and with cpo they towed me with a flatbed to Autohaus but once I'm out of cpo. I'm going Canadian tire. More range and actually is cheaper and they have flat beds and cover 320 km range. The problem with CAA is they're cheap to their drivers and they tend to employ younger and less experienced ones. Hence why they are "cheap".

CAA is like $130 or something and that's with my wife's company discount.

The rates most likely changed since I checked but the original flatbed truck driver I got recommended Canadian tire instead of CAA.

never had an issue with CAA. every tow driver i dealt with was professional. only problem i have with them is when a snowstorm hits they dont have enough people to answer the phones and tow trucks out but i avoided driving in snowstorms so it doesnt really affect me.

Last time I needed a tow via BMW Roadside Assistance due to waterpump going out, I was quoted ETA 1.5 hours for normal tow truck vs 3 hours for a flatbed

+1 CAA Has saved my ass a few times, and I have always had great experiences with their drivers...even in snowstorms

Same experience with BMW Roadside - the towing company called me and said that the flatbed was 3 hours out and maybe they will bring a regular tow with a dolly to save time. Waited 1.5 hours for the regular tow truck, driver said couldn't do it with the dolly. Waited another 2.5 hours for the flatbed. Should have stuck with the flatbed initially. Tow chain made a slight indent and mark on my front bumper.
