so you can a x3 3 stage manifold instead of an 330 3 stage manifold and still buy all the parts listed and it will work?

Yes, but check the part numbers to be safe.

Real oem shows a different part number for the X3.

X3 - 11617559524
330i - 11617559523

I wonder how they differ.

I am in same question as Snyperx, I already have a tune.. Will my tune adjust to the 3 stage swap with a better benifit than no tune and the swap? I realize the AA tune maximizes this swap because it is specific for my 325

The ECU controls them. The connections are already on the non 3 stage manifold clipped out of the way and unhooked. Once you install the manifold you use the connectors on the DISA motors.

An educated guess would be where the oil separator connects to the back of the intake. Some have a single inlet into the manifold and others have two inlets. Either way, you can get the corresponding hose that connects it up.

It could be something else, but I am not seeing anything else in my head it could be.

Yes, you can get the manifold installed even with the tune already on. You will want to have the AA stage 2 tune however.

Most people not getting a tune see ~9whp gains and then coupled with the tune they see between 25-35whp gains.

Got it! Seems simple enough... Thoroughly make sure you have the correct manifold and parts, get a new gasket, get it put on or put it on yourself ...AA tune and good to go..

Is there any way you can test out the two adjusters to see they are in working condition?
I have bought a used intake manifold from 07' x5, and i want to make sure the adjuster units work properly before i put everything back.
Thanks,

YES
  1. You need a friend. Take apart the used manifold, carefully pulling out the adjusters. ( Remove all sensors & clip off the manifold shell to clean the manifold of oil residue with water & soap)
  2. Find out which adjuster connected to which cable that's attached to stock manifold ( there is an image here somewhere). May not be too important to get the correct one.
  3. Plug in adjuster to the cable attached to the stock manifold. Have the friend hold it in the air as as you start the car.
  4. The working adjuster should close at IDLE and open seconds after car is shut down

Woo-hoo for another Canadian on the 3 Stage list

If you have a coding cable, you can also trigger the adjusters to open and close as well, without having to take anything apart. Every few months I do this to make sure everything is working properly. You hear a noticeable click when you activate it through INPA.
