a better fix would be to just pull the fuse out. thats what i did with mine. i would love to have the handover working again but it would cost about 50 pounds to get one from a scrapyard and seeing this i kinda don't want to spend the money on it as this is the third different issue i have seen with them . mine pushed the seatbelt forward too fast and the seatbelt got locked and something in the arm's end broke / snapped and ever since it just doesnt grab it anymore

Could you see if you could do a repair on it or add a replacement metal tab? |

The only thing we can do is go to our dealers and ask if they can give us a replacement plastic. Keep us updated |

I noticed this when it happened to both the driver's and passenger's side on my car (within 3 weeks of one another). I contacted BMW since, like you, I knew that I did not need the entire assembly. I sent lots of pictures and explained the engineering flaws in the design. I do not remember the name of the guy I spoke to, but we exchanged approx 3 emails over the course of 2 weeks. Unfortunately, he told me that the part I requested (that thin piece of plastic) is not available separately. I'm not sure how much effort he really put in, but I think the best option is to try to obtain it at a scrap yard because I'm not spending $300-$400 for new assemblies when they're not needed.
