Coil Packs and Spark Plugs
I was wondering when you guys replaced your ignition electronics. Also, has anyone compared OEM spark plugs and coil packs to "performance" ones?

I replaced mine around 75,XXX miles. Started to have a random miss and just decided to replace the coils and plugs all at once.
With proper functioning ignition hardware, there is an extremely small performance benefit from "performance" coils and plugs. Basically, a spark is a spark. Your alternator delivers X amount of electricity to the coil, performance coils won't receive any more power than oem. |

I changed my plugs at 100k miles. haven't changed the coils yet as the car still runs fine, but I've ordered a couple of spare coils for when they they start going out.

I have to change mine too. I was wondering about the coil packs. Did you notice a change in performance with new spark plugs and which ones did u use?

I replaced mine a couple of weeks back- was misfiring in cylinder 2. I went with plugs and coils from partsgeek. The old plugs didn't look too bad considering I am at 71K miles. But coil on cylinder 2 was dead. Ran the same before the misfiring, and after change over. But those coils and plugs do get pretty jammed in there after so many miles and heat.

Can't say I did. The old plugs didn't look as bad as I expected. I used the recommended factory plug, an NGK platinum.

honestly I don't remember, I bought them online. just check sites like ECS, sparkplugs.com, rockauto, etc for the best price. You may even be able to get a good deal locally, since you won't need to pay shipping.
