Muffler deleted - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

did a muffler delete before the snow hit just uploaded the video last night let me know what you guys think

i couldn't be happier with the sound

Sounds good but if you are an AT you will drone hard on the highway.

They do too, but the gearing is different so you wont hear it at normal highway speeds. The RPM's are at a higher level usually.

i think manuals will drone too
constant rpm + unrestricted exhaust = drone
you would drone in 5th gear too

sounds great, just a quick question do you lose any hp or torque by duing this or is it just minimal that we wont even notice ?

I have e-cutouts which basically equal a muffler delete when they're open (my car sounds exactly like the video btw), and I don't have any drone at all, at any speeds.

Cutouts before the muffler or before the resonator?

They are right before the mufflers. Everything else on my exhaust is stock for now, until I get my downpipes installed

I've been throwing around the idea of doing a secondary cat delete with Vibrant resonator, but not sure I want to go that route as my exhaust is plenty loud as it is.

I have a pic of the cutouts in my Garage if you want to see placement. I actually would like to have a second set of cutouts directly on the DPs for track use only, for a fully unrestricted exhaust. Would be crazy loud, though!

sounds amazing.. i just had it done a month or two ago too and i love it.

i have 6mt and actually experience quite a bit of drone at highway speeds

I heard a friends muffler delete today and it was great! I didnt think it was bad

i did that mod about a year ago res and muffler delete and no drone or problems sounds really nice, however less back pressure less torque but more HP
