O boy. I'm sure you had very good throttle response. No restriction whatsoever with the absence of air filters. I hope your arn't driving in a dusty or sandy area.

From the looks of it, the previous owner did the following:
- removed the stock air box and put in aftermarket intake - then took it off and left your intake open - took out the passenger seat to do some drag racing / weight reduction - it will give you an airbag and seatbelt code My Recommendations: - get an aftermarket tune (not going to suggest anything - get what you like) - remove the airbag/seat belt code via Tune or ODB2 tool I've driven my car without intakes before, its not bad until you get something sucked into it. ![]()

heh, sorry about that should have spoken more better english. The airbox was there but the hoses weren't clamped or attached. It was lined up so that they were close but not actually attached. So I ran to walmart to grab clamps and re-atached everything. At the time, 3am, I was thinking there was preasurized air running through there but it was just sucking in some dirty air. Probably not a lot but still not cool. I picked up a coding cable from onestopelec. Starting the download of files so I can clear the dash warning lights.
Here is my new M3 interior from Maxxfish. Door panels will be put in next week. I have almost turned my 335i into my old ZHP.

Bump
I just replaced my catless Raceland DP's with OEM DP's and am getting higher boost? Does this make any sense? I also turned my BMS DP fix off. I am using a OBD Bluetooth reader and Tourque Pro app for readings. So maybe I am just getting bad info? I was getting around 3.0 boost and now I am getting 3.3.

Find the previous owner and return that car. Didnt you inspect the car before you bough it? I mean the air bag light alone should have been a red flag from the begining.
Rule #1 never buy a modded car. Buy stock and mod to your needs. Buy from an old man. Good luck man! Last edited by Wolf 335; 12-27-2012 at 02:09 AM. |

That car was a quarter mile horse and it was probably ran hard. This was a bad buy as it looks as though there are alot of issues. The car was far from slightly modded. Boosting 3.3 is not normal. Stock boost levels should hover around 7-8 psi. You have either a boost leak or your turbos are shot. Are u hearing any turbo whine?

Lots of lil issues to deal with and hopefully they dont become big issues.
You are clearly missing a rear diffuser and no muffler must make that thing super loud lol...I wouldn't throw back on OEM DP's as you'll actually lose power; unless you don't care and just want it to be quieter. Hope it all works out for you dude. |

What's with all the off topic comments? I bought the car in auction for dirt cheap I fixed the airbag light all it was, was the active headrests weren't plugged in. I swapt out my interior for M3 without Active headrests. I coded out active headrests and no more airbag light. Car came with carbon fiber quad rear diffusor I just took it off for some pictures. I've been driving the car for 6,000 miles the only thing I have had to do is replace a coil. I have driven two stock 335i's and had two other 335i owners drive mine, both said it was faster than their stock. Also out ran an 06 M3 60-120 so I can't be unerboosting that bad. I don't seem to have any unusual noises from turbos or wastgate rattle. But, if my turbos ar shot aren't they now covered to 82,000 miles? Car was fully inspected by BMW of Mornovia in California they said all maintenence was up to date and I saw the carfax and it was serviced regularly at BMW dealerships obviously they could BS me all they want. The car might be a three legged dog but it's now my three legged dog so I am going to feed him and love him unitl he dies. I am posting to this site to learn how to improve the car and get help. "Return the car" is not an option. I know this car was never ran on a tune so it couldn't have been beat up that bad. I am looking for answers to:

The MAP reading for boost off the OBD-II port is limited. What you're probably seeing is minor changes to an artificially clipped value. See http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=506748 for other people who are having the same issue.
Get a dedicated boost gauge or a tune that can display/datalog actual boost. |

I'm not familiar with any of those applications and their accuracy but they don't sound accurate. This car in stock form produces about 7-10lbs of boost. You will need more boost to meet target if you have less modifications on a tune only car or a car that uses a load based targeting system. |

Thank you, I am working on picking up a procede and just purchased an Active Autowerke catback to replace my meineke special. I read with a procede I can have a boost guage on my dash? Which I assume will be pretty reliable. Will dealership replace HPFP under recall even without issues?
