Just off topic I live in brierley hill and have never seen this car around. Also I wouldn't buy a car like this from brierley hill ;-)

So I called him,

He said lots of nice things about the car. Condition etc, then when I got a chance to finally get a word in. I asked if it was a cat D.

To which he hesitated and said ... this is the reason why he has kept the price low in order to generate interest.

The story according to him is that the guy he bought it off had an altercation with his wife/gf who had taken a knife to the whole interior seats, carpets and dashboard and dials etc...

I asked if he was sure he was flood or fire damage and he said no just knife.

At this point I gathered that he had replaced the interior which explains the somewhat odd colour choice.

He then rambled on and said BMW had recently inspected the car and said that it was an outstanding example. He also mentioned BMW's are very expensive and premium cars and that the next owner should appreciate that this car is valued at 34k by BMW. He then said that he was actually hinking of relisting the price at 32k because of all the interest.

At this point i politely concluded the conversation without speaking my mind.

Which is this.

The Dodgy k*nt must think ppl are stupid. Absolute novice.

Firstly the F*ucking wheels... those B8stard wheels are reps. they are not one of a kind BBS. they are such illfitting reps with w*nkface falcrap rubber.

The would be one of a kind if elton john had place them on his BBQ and the black finish was due to them being burnt.

Next thing he said the carbon fibre on the car makes this makes is a special buy. well the F*cking carbon crap on the front looks like it was bought from that HAPPYGOLUCKY seller from thaliand or where ever.

The roof is carbon from factory not an optional extra you K*OB.

When askd what kind of fual he runs it on he said... unleaded only unleaded. What a Chimp.

And the Interior.... What a W*nk colour to choose. I am sure if he chose red or black then it would have looked much nicer.

And finally back to the wheels... seriously how bad do they sit.... just look at them....

What a fecking bellend (seller),he needs busting, the twat!

I guess it's now off the 'watch' list for quite a few.

So the car is a Cat D as Bungle called it,I wonder if a potential buyer would be told this, unless he asked the question?

The rear tyres must be Falken 453's,there not 452's.

Always worth a quick HPI check before considering any car. Experian Autocheck are excellent value at 5 checks for something just over 20.

In the part of Cheshire I used to live there are no shortage of rich young men who cannot spell. Some of them can hardly talk but it doesnt stop them owning fleets of sportscars. If you phoned one of them regarding a car, I wouldnt have thought they would know much about it. Dunno its a Porsche innit wadu mean model, wats wrung with my wife. oh it one of dem black ones.
Although I agree with this particular car maybe it is best left alone.

Really!? Fuel type patrol indeed. A crazy reason (on its own) not to buy an M3

First thing I noticed when I looked at the pictures were the wheels didn't look right!

Nice story though about an ex going crazy with a knife...

A_P's conversation with the seller is very telling. It's worth spending as long evaluating the seller as you do the car IMHO. Almost everyone is a better judge of people than they are of cars and if the seller is dodgy, then so is the car.

Well thanks for clearing that one up! Was interested in the story behind that car when I saw it on autotrader.

I'm willing to bet a pound to a pinch of shit it'll be the same story with the Audi cab he also has for sale; the car has obviously been dated and, instead of replacing with factory parts, it's been repaired with upgraded items - why else would one spend south money on a creating a replica of a reasonably new and high value car?

Maybe I'm crediting him with too many smarts but he has probably raised the price not to reduce interest, but to reduce suspicions. Hence the title of this thread.

That is a very good point.

Problem with that is, some people are just always a bit too nit picky.

That's certainly why.

I bet he has had quite a few calls from very suspicious people asking why it's so cheap so he's had a think about it.

Provided it was only interior damage & if some pics were available before being repaired it "could" make someone a good car but finding someone who would risk it is hard going at that money.

Not mentioning the repairs etc. in the description though to me is unforgiveable. People that fail to point something like that out would fail to mention anything that should be known before buying. Had he been upfront from the start people might have trusted him & took a punt.
