OBD II Cable for reading/deleting codes

I need an OBD II Cable ASAP! Problem is, can i use a random OBD II cable for reading/deleting codes if yes.. What program should i use ?

I know the bavarian technic cable is available, but i need one tomorrow so i just can go pick it up to a high price but nvm
