Acoustic sealt-belt warning?

I placed an order for a 325i on Friday. One of the options available was "Acoustic seat-belt warning", at no extra charge, when going though the options on the ordering form.
Do anyone know what this is?
My SA had no idea (thought it might give a nicer warning sound), and pressing the options on the order screen for more detail gave errors.

PS! I would like to thank everyone here. Spending time reading the posts helped me a lot in deciding on my spec.

I'd say it is probably just a chime to remind you to wear your belt.

I'm not sure of the regulations in SA, but any US car made since the early '90s is required to have a visual and audible reminder that will either sound or flash for a predetermined amount of time if the driver does not have their belt on. Cars have had to have this for much longer than that, but starting in the early '90s the lights were required to stay on for an extended amount of time.

I believe the speakers that produces that "Acoustic seat-belt warning" is the same speaker that produces the turn signal sounds and all the other warnings that you can visually see on the gauge pod.

reason it gave a error is because its not a option anymore ( never really was) its standard on SA cars

Interesting, I wonder what that sounds like.

Thanks E90Fleet. Weird that it is even listed as a option.

My spec is:

325i (Titanium Silver)
Exclusive Pack
161 style wheels
Sports Steering Wheel (Preferred the thickness and look over the standard wheel)
Business Navigation
Bluetooth Kit
HiFi Loudspeaker system
Folding Mirrors - (not going to fit in the gargage otherwise)
Chrome Exhaust tips

Was going to get a 330i but just could not get over the R63 000 price difference i.e feeling slightly ripped off. And considering that I currently drive a Merc C200K, the 325 is quite a jump in performance.

Yes, its quite a jump in price to the 330i

Nice spec, did they give you an idea of when it would be built ?

Where in SA you from ? Couple of us from JHB/Pretoria here and a few from other areas

Thanks. Live in Cape Town.
Was told that I should get the car in about 3 to 4 months but I will find out more tomorrow.
Maybe they not selling 330's because I could have got one much much sooner.

Nice spec!! :-) I can assure you the 325i has plenty of power (almost similar to the old 330i infact)

Nice to see more South African's online here!!!

I think 330's and 330d's are moving very slowly because they are soo pricey (alot more money - for not so much more car)! I took a 320d in June - because I could have it the next month. I couldn't wait the 5 months for the 325 (as much as I would have loved one)

This forum will definately help the wait :-)

They are not selling as well as the 325i

Your dealer probably has a unsold 330i allocation being produced earlier that their first unsold 325i allocation.

Allocations are fixed, and they cannot change a 330i allocation to a 325i one. the car you get the quickest should be a 320i or 320d, just because they get so many allocations of those

If I remember correctly they said the problem with 330d is that they are getting hardly any allocations of them.

Just like the 130i where they only get about 1 a month
