Same car, same problem. I don't have a sunroof, so the problem can't be from a sunroof. For some reason I thought it was from the side mirror. I still don't know whats causing it though.

I have wind noise problem too when i drive around 80mph. It's like i didnt close my driver's window all the way up. But it is closed. And the noise comes from top right corner if u r outside and looking at driver's door. With music on it's not possible to hear but when music is off and i'm doing around 80mph i can hear it. Should i mention this to dealer?

I have very bad wind noise coming from both A-pillars (driver and passenger side) on my E92, any time I am going faster than 60mph. I cannot pinpoint the exact location, but it seems to be around the wingmirror/tweeter area. Any ideas?

i get this too on my E92.
i pin pointed and eliminated the whistle from the mirror trim, but i do get wind noise from the tweeter sail area with the window shut at highway speeds.

Drive minivan then let's see if you guys would complain about wind noise. When I drive above 65 I usually can't hear the wind unless its really windy out.

i agree, somewhat, thats why i never figured it to be too abnormal. i own two other cars aside from my E92 and they make almost the same level of noise at highway speed. actually my VW is a little quieter...

No, the noise level on my E92 is too high to be acceptable. I had a 325 E90 before my E92 335, and it had no wind noise on the highway at all. I am going to be speaking with my dealer about it.........

E92 here as well. I have wind noise at highway speeds if I have a crosswind. Very annoying! My wife's '11 Maxima is quiet as a mouse at highway speeds and above. I would love to find a cure for my coupe. I absolutely love driving it except for the occasional wind noise.

I had the chance to drive another 2011 e90 as a service loan. If there is crosswind, it makes the exact same noise. I am starting to believe this is the nature of the car. I can live with that, but disappointed about it.

I just had my windshield replaced (8900) miles, and there is windnoise, major windnoise above 80MPH, 60-75 is OK. mine is a 2011 335xi (no warranty, don't ask)

I am going to try the tape solution to find the noise, but it is unacceptable for a 2011 BMW, my minivan probably doesn't have this much noise, I'll test it. I do have my brother's E90 2008 i can also check, that doesn't have the windshield replaced

My car is dead quiet all the way to 80. Hell I wish my exhaust was a little louder

Go to dealer and compare right next to another car, see if everything matches. Try and take that other car for a spin.

Can you guys tell what is the brand of the windshield, if you have wind noise problem? Mine is Pilkington and the wind noise is coming from all over the windshield not from a particular area.

pilkington is OEM factory glass.

bmw's have a thin windshield, i believe for better weight savings and distrubution (same reason the battery in supposedly in the trunk).

I get a lot at 170+ In all honesty, it's fairly quiet unless it's a windy day outside where most of the noise comes from the mirrors. The ******* exhaust covers up most the wind noise.

are the doors adjusted properly? You can tell if you are outside the car and push in the door. if it move too much the latch might need adjustment. I had an issue like that on my x5. Also does the trim going down the door match up and look right? Plenty of spots where wind can get in and make a howl.
OEM roof rack is noisy as hell with the rubber strips in. Take them out and it is 10x quieter.

I have a 2011 E92 and I also have pretty loud wind noise at 70+mph
Compared to my old G37 coupe, the BMW is louder. I think its from the side mirrors. I would just leave it alone and not have the dealer start messing around with adjusting my windows. Once they start - it will never be the same again (more problems in the future).

Thread resurrection time.

My E92 M3 has an infuriating wind noise problem that starts just above 70mph. It is not the sunroof (it does not have one) nor the windows.

It comes from the lower/outer corners of the windshield and sounds like leaves, or paper (harness labels?) fluttering in turbulence somewhere.

I have looked under the hood, in the corners where the drain holes are, and nothing obvious is causing it. I have stuck down the rubber sealing trim on the leading edge of the door, where it folds inside, but no difference.

I am beginning to think there is something lodged?flapping inside the air vent system.

It is driving me mad...
