Timming Belt

Hi,

Does anybody know if my car has a Timming Belt and if so how often does this need changed?

57 Reg 320i M Sport

If by "timming belt" you mean timing belt, then no. It uses a simplex chain.

The chain last forever then? or does it work in a different way i.e. chain snaps, no engine destruction?

Chains in oil will last pretty much forever.

Still disaster if it breaks, but any failing tensioners etc will make a noise first, so at least give you some notice.
