Been running regular tire as of late 2006 and have had 1 flat, carry a spare and jack always.

I also have non-run flats with no spare. I still have BMW roadside assistance, and wifey has AAA. I still always think about it though. Of course it will only happen at the worse time in the worse neighberhood.

Sorry to jack the thread on this, but this is my pet peeve. I hate that stupid California law that some dumb-ass liberal came up with, where you have to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. I almost hit someone in 1985 in L.A. because they stepped out in front of me in the crosswalk that was in the middle of the block. I had no idea there was such a law anywhere, or that someone conceived of such a traffic law (there is not one East Coast city I've ever been in that has a crosswalk in the middle of the block).

The law is an unnatural law in the sense that if the driver F's up and doesn't stop, the pedestrian gets hurt or killed. The law makes no sense to expect a car weighing 3,000 pounds to stop for a person weighing 180 pounds. The Physics of the law is backwards; it is easier and more predictable for a human travelling at 2 MPH to stop crossing the street when there is traffic present than for a 3,000 lb. car to stop travelling 30 MPH for a human in the crosswalk. Cars rarely get killed by hitting humans; not so the other way around. Humans can stop from walking speed in under 12 inches; cars travelling at road speed (30 MPH) take nearly 100 feet.

Your friend got hit because a Politician wrote a stupid law and he expected someone to obey it.

Where? I'd bet it was added after the law in DC was passed. Sorry, used to be a courier in the '80s and went to school downtown in the '70s; no mid-block crosswalks. And BTW it was D.C. liberals who came up with the idea to pass out free "clean" drug needles to cure aids (LOL). Just sayin'

There weren't speed bumps in MD either and a section of Georgia Ave. was still unpaved near the Howard-Carroll line - but times have changed. Now both DC and suburban MD feature varius "traffic calming" measures such as mid block stop signs (Oregon Ave., Nebraska Ave, etc.), mid block traffic lights (Kansas Ave., IIRC), mid block pedestrian crossings (Arcola Ave.), speed bumps (Sligo Creek Parway and many, many others) and curb escursions/choke-outs (Kemp Mill Rd.) etc., etc...

Hey, I remember that gravel section of Georgia Avenue extended on the way to Westminster very well. We used to really think we were out in the boonies back then. Now the whole way is just one giant suburb!

MD law does allow for mid-block crosswalks, by the way, whether a signal is installed or not. Look it up in the State Code. Far as I know, it's been that way near on to forever.

Friend of mine with an 09 135i got fed up with the failed pumps and bmw installed an aftermarket pump for him, not a problem since.

I'd think an aftermarket fuel pump, no matter who installed it, would have BMW yelling "no fuel system warranty" in a New York minute.

Yeah he made such a fuss that they gave in and he hasnt had one problem since, maybe they are a little more lax down in florida

I am in this same situation....need my first new tires on e93 m-sport. 19" rims...30 series tires. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I am going to get a fix a flat kit and Non RFT tires. Plus I have ERS with my Geico insurance

I've only ever had one flat since running RFTs, deciding to switch to all-season Falkens for some weight savings.
