Thinking of picking up a used m-tech front bumper...
So there's someone selling an m-tech front bumper (E92) for $50 on craigslist and I think I might just bite. The thing is, there's a dent on the front bumper and there's no lower grills & fogs included. Anyone know of any cheap online places that sells just the lower grills & fogs? Also, the color is space grey whereas mine is jet black, is it easy for shops to just paint over the grey to match my color? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

Very simple for a shop to repair and paint it. That's super cheap also. I would definitely do it! For lower grilles and fogs, why don't you try tischer or your local BMW dealer? I feel that overall you would be cheaper than buying the bumper and painting it.

I would skip. You're looking at about $500 for paint, maybe another $100 for the dent repair, then another $150ish for the grills and fogs. That's roughly $800 (including the original $50).
You can get a nice rep for like $975 brand new in the classifieds and you don't need to worry about the risk of fixing the dent. My $.02

Speaking from experience with paint here. I just had one of the more reputable shops here in Raleigh paint an mtech rear bumper. For just the paint, they charged 300. 500 seems pretty outrageous

Yeah I'm not too worried on the pricing of the paint, I know a shop that will do it for $200 + installation for me, and they've painted my fender before when someone hit it and it looks just like OEM. I'm worried whether or not it's possible to paint over the space gray. Also the guy said its from a 2010 e92, mine is 2007, would it still fit? Thanks for the responses guys!

Does anyone know if the m-sport front bumper from a 2010 model will fit a 2007 model without any modifications to the headlight and hood?

also, not going to worth your time with the cost of fogs and grilles, covers, etc.

Dang I thought 2011 was LCI? Most placed from what I've seen that sells the mtech rep says that 07-10 are the same and 11+ would be a different design. Why is that?

$500 for paint is a little out there.
I agree though... purchasing a brand new rep with paint might be cheaper than fixing and repainting the used one. either way... hope it works out. |
