The service light has come up on my 320d...the one with just the car showing, can anyone tell me what is the kind of service or is it just a check over? I have looked in the manual and it just states service..but what needs servicing?

it CBS (condition based servicng) so you will either get your key read by dealer and will tell you what needs doing or

if you have idrive go to the service section and will tell you
non idrive go through the dash display

what year is your car and what milege is it on?

I have a 59 plate with 80k on the clock, I have gone through the menu and can't see that anything needs to be done..confused!!

I will try and get a pic tomorrow, it's a picture of just the car and the miles have been counting down and now states 800 miles,and says service?

I've got this with mine too (the car symbol showing and service due message). According to my idrive a service was due in January so I took the key to be read last month but BMW said that no service is due so it must mean the MOT, but my MOT isn't due until April!!

I was thinking about getting an interim service done anyway, if not I'll just wait for the MOT as Sytner said they charge £28 to do resets etc.

You can reset the MOT reminder easily yourself!!!! No need to spend £28!
