Today after work this guy wants to run me. He has an 07 evo FBO with cams running 24lbs. He doesnt have meth and is on the stock turbo. The guy showed me the dyno 380whp. I was wondering with my mods running e85 map 5. Where do I stand? He wants to put $80 on it.

Does he want to race from a dig or rolling? I think it would probably be close from a roll with you coming out ahead. From a dig I don't think you stand a chance.

+1 That dyno sheet could easily be an old one or from another car. I would just race for fun and see what happens. Let us know the outcome either way.

It will make 350 ask me how I know. But if he has an FPRed stock framed turbo hell be over 400awhp.

Race and record it. Heck even meet him at the gas station and have him pump 93 into his car while you get e85. I hope your a decent driver if your car is manual....

You'd prob make over 400 to the wheels with e85 and your mods. I've gone up against an evo with similar mods to you and took him from a roll. His mods were unknown. I'd say you have him with e85

it will make 350 but with tons of boltons and running 26+psi. My evo x made 410awhp with fpblack, cams and full boltons.

Are you sure it's an X?
The EVO X officially came out in 2008.
If he bought a 9 in 2007 you have something to worry about.

I plan on having someone record it. And I'm automatic. Im a pretty good driver.

I misunderstood him he has an 03 evo and 07 sti. The sti is stock so not running that one.

There is a larger/cheaper aftermarket available to the 4g63(evo IX and older) than the 4B11(evo x) so odds are if it's an evo IX it may be more heavily modified.

Either way, just run him for fun and see what happens.

my friend has an evo .. i think 09 with 600 hp for the track

he also has a FBO 135i with LSD, suspension upgrades and he finds it slow.

he's kinda crazy tho

You will win with E85 for sure if you can drive, assuming it was an evo 8.

I've had my fair share of runs with the Evo 8 9 and 10 from Full bolt on stock turbo to FP Red Black and setups making 500-600WHP.

I specifically remember running an Evo 8, full bolt on, with cams and i outran him.

On the 40 roll he will get the jump, so you will be playing catch up. Dont be late on the 40 roll or it will take you till 120 to catch up.

After about 120 those cars on stock turbo just cant breathe. If he's lying about this turbo and any other part of his setup you may have a problem.

If its an Evo 9 the turbo is a bit better. This will make it a pretty close race. I wouldn't bet anything on it. One mess up at the roll being late and you will be playing catch up.

If the race is 40-140 you might edge him out if its an evo 9.

My setup at the time was 390-400WHP with methanol. All I had was an intake. No downpipes, No intercooler, stock exhaust.

The methanol helped me on the top end more then a pump gas car. I was probably running 18 PSI tapering to 15 by redline.

He showed you the dyno, was it a mustang dyno or dynojet?

This is a good question...my little bro wants to race me. He have a evo 8 with evo 9 and fmic, exhaust, cams, intake, and tune I think. I'm not sure about dp. But I think he was doing 350 to the wheels. I always wanted to know how I would match up. Both cars are standards, and I'm a little better driver, so hopefully that'll give me the edge.

i have a video on youtube of me running a evo with a stock ix turbo (i think, may of been the 8) with cams tuned on e85 and i walked him pretty good, terrible video but ill post in a second... he said he put down 405whp too, not sure what dyno or how it read but he had no reason to lie bc he was a cool dude not some dueche and just wanted to see whos was quicker because mutual friends would always start sh;t about it , lol... we had a line of cars following so it was satisfying

i was fbo 6m 135i now i have a 335 tho

You should beat it but one thing I've learned is most Evo owners lie about mods. It's really annoying.
