Did I get ripped off?

I bought a set of smoked side markers from an e90 member for my e92. Theyare inexcellent condition, but when I tried installing them they would not fit as expected. I could not get the front end of it to sit flush against the fender due to the "housing" of the inner part of the side marker being too big.

I obviously contacted the selle, but not surprisingly he did notreply. Pretty sure he knowthis when he sold them as they appear to be brand new and probably never installed.

Judging by the pics, what say you? Are these for other BMWs, or just wrong all together?

Also, if anyone has a set of smoked side markers (which actually fit an e92) please let me know

If you just search the forum you will find that many, if not all, of the aftermarket sidemarkers are junk and don't fit right. You can't beat the quality of OEM.

Aftermarket products usually don't tend to fit perfectly like OEM..he probably had the same problem and just got rid of them..if you still have your OEM ones I would just take it to a tint shop and they wrap it for you. I did that and it came out awesome.

or just spray nightshade on them if you dont want to tint them. Easy to apply and somewhat easy to remove. Obviously tint has better reversibility. But a can of nightshade is like 6$. Tint shop will probably charge you 15 or 20$ for each piece? That is a complete guess.

Or order some sample tint from eBay for $3 and tint them yourself. super easy.

Lol I have them installed on my car. First you have to shave the little thing that sticks out on the side of the back. Only then fitment will be like 90%. Oh and it's best to break that thin aluminum bendy thing that's suppose to snap/click into your fender. That gets in the way. Oh one more thing lol. Sometimes the housing is too thick/wide so you might have to use a little force to push it in. Don't be afraid to do this. I have experience haha...
