Yeah your right Kobe sucks at Defense. That is why he has made first team All defense 9 years and second team 3 years while Jordan only has 9. After he makes all team this year he will have the most years 10, more than any other player in the history of the game.

lol have u been watching games lately? its kobe who misses assignments then blames teammates when he gets blown by expecting the bigs to come and help. if he wants to turn the D on he can but he is lazy most of the time.

Didn't catch most of the game though seems like the typical story with the lakers making it close in the 4th, but falling up short.

Even if the lakers make the playoffs, they'd be battling for an 8th seed and face the likes of OKC or san antonio in the first round. But looking on the bright side, if they did make the playoffs, they'd have to get on a pretty big roll and would be playing some good ball by that time so they might have a chance against the top seeds.

Out of the top 4 teams in record right now, I'd say the lakers would have the best chance against the clippers once the slower, half-court offense of the playoffs set in.

Looking long term, not sure about the chances of signing dwight in the offseason. He really hasn't done much this season, but would still be a big loss to lose him. The lakers are still in "win now" mode with aging Kobe still elite, but don't know what kind of moves they can make. Gasol has pretty much no trade value right now and a lot of free agents they can't afford.

Looking at the clippers, maybe the lakers can somehow get odom or butler for next year. I believe odom has a team option for next year and don't believe butler is completely happy with his playing time.

Lol at bandwagon Laker noob fans. You do know that Jordan only played for 15 season. 13 season if you don't count the last 2 season he joined the Wizards after he was already retired.

To make it fair. Jordan only took 13 season to get 9x defensive first team. While it took Kobe 17 season to get the same as Jordan. Kobe never was the leader in steal or received defense player of the year. Jordan was leader in steals for 3 season and defensive player of the year.

He also stepped away for almost two years.

Another thing though Jordan new when to score or when to put the clamps on teams to get the W, allot of this don't show on stats, he also had a comanding presence, these teams and players arent worried about Kobie, MJ demanded the attention of the whole other team not just some C class player in the front of him, and this allowed open players to convert if they didn't he would deal with them in the locker room, sounds like a competitive ass hole to me!! but things like this don't show on stats, get it done LA if Kobie is the guy he needs to do or die trying like his idol

im not debating whos better here. but if you want to go that route, our opinions about that subject should be left to the ppl who really knows ball. about their efficiency the bball era plays a huge role. lbj is more efficient than mj. tex winter/phil jackson/ john wooden.

This stat was taken a couple years ago, im sure its much closer now since hes more efficient this year.

my initial point was comparing kobe and mj career avgs are misleading saying one is better than the other. They played in different eras zone/hand checking defenses with different supporting cast.
