Sorry to post this here, but I figure I would get more traffic here on the main N57 board then the marketplace.

I want to pick up another stock 335D airbox for a project I'm thinking of doing. Any of you guys who switched to open element filters want to sell me your airbox?

I didn't know this existed. About a year back I was looking at doing my own custom CAI, but got busy with a new little baby boy in our lives. (He already likes the D btw). Anyway, I'm guessing that it would have to be on the left side of the engine bay (looking from the front of the car). It seemed to me that there was plenty of room to put some piping in under there last I checked. It still bewilders me that no major BMW tuner has made a CAI for our D's. Countless ones for the 335i. Isn't there like 10,000+ D's stateside (2009-2011) that were made/sold?

I want to do something like I did for my evo. I cut the bottom half of the box with dremel to hide and block heat from an open element cone air filter. Pictures to show what i'm talking about. These pics are not from my car, but it basically looks the same.

Air box "hacked" from the bottom.

"Hacked" airbox in engine bay. You can barely tell it's chopped up.

Anybody have any ideas on how to get a 335D airbox? Our cars are a bit too new to be in junkyards.
