Cool Which Commuter Car Would You Buy ?

im in the market for a new commuter car. all cars below are in same price w/ options i want ~$25k. what are your thoughts and would you get something different?

Hyundai Elantra:
-great standard features including heated rear seats
-warranty & reliability
-nav is nicer compared to rest
-due for a refresh/new model soon ?

Honda Civic:
-brand new design
-still looks "cheaper" to hyundai

Subaru Impreza:
-awd w/ comparable gas mileage
-not a fan of cvt
-don't really need awd as i have another car for heavy snow days

VW Jetta:
-german
-most hp/tq out of list

MINI Cooper Hardtop:
-german
-only car on list requiring premium gas but w/ comparable mileage
- ~$3k more expensive than rest

I have the 2011 Jetta - Think I was one of the first in VA to get one. Love it. 36K trouble free miles. Nothing is as fast or big or solid for the money

Considering the cars on your list and your target price/desires, why not look into the Focus? It really is a great DD square in your price range.

at the rate im going, my 328xi will be way over miles by lease end. so instead of spending $ on over miles at .10 per, i would rather spend that on a car. my next car is a m3 so i would want a commuter car then anyway so it makes sense for me to buy one now.

i have to eliminate the subaru. i test drove yesterday and the car is nice but the awd is something i don't need and i really don't like the cvt in the car. also the nav screen is not on par with the rest of cars on the list.

I just picked up a 2013 civic ex-l with navigation and so far I really like it. Just redesigned with a great interior. I paid under invoice and am very happy with it despite it not having power seats.

Jetta or Mini Cooper

I would also look at the Fiesta or Focus.

I owned a Mini Cooper S Coupe as a daily for a few months and loved it. Great on gas (at least compared to my M3) and still a very "reputable" car as people always told me I owned 2 Bimmers even though I didn't have that perception myself. It's definitely a step above your typical daily driver, not to mention so much more fun.

My vote's for the cooper, great daily driver with a very sporty feel. But also depends on how much space you need.

Civic easily in this. Jetta other then GLI is just a pretty basic car. Hyundai is alright, but seems like civics are just the way to go for a commuter car. Mini is wasting money on your commuter car.

I voted for a jetta, because I have a 2009 Jetta; has 81k miles, and it has been reliable thus far. It has bluetooth, and heated seats; that's all I need.

Jetta would make the most sense, plus it's German!

I'd go with either the Civic or the Jetta, Jetta being the 1st choice due to the awkward design/proportion of the Civic.

I actually looked at a MINI Cooper before I got my E90. Good use of space inside, great mileage, godlike handling that can compare with cars that cost much more, and in the case of the Cooper S, pretty darn fast too. For a "commuter" car, the fit and finish and materials are also very good, partly in thanks to BMW.

Plus they look pretty cool.

i would vote for Civic. The new Civic is hot and IMHO does not look cheaper than the Elantra. Elantra's free flow design is all over the board and cheap plasticy interior is nasty as shit.

If it was the mini cooper S then different story, but you can't get a nicely loaded mini for 25k. last but not least, mini is german owned but i believe the enjine is French made by PSA Peugeot Citroën citation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_(marque)
