Engine light comes on/starts rumbling when accelerating at high speeds - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hey guys,

Recently, when I start accelerating at high speeds, my engine starts rumbling and the check engine light comes on.

If I pull over and turn my car off and then on again, it stops rumbling and the engine light goes away.

Does anyone have an idea of what would cause this?

I had something similar happen to me at around 55 k, it would say reduced power and show a malfunction and it turned out to be a vacuum hose.
Replaced under extended warranty. SA said it would have been 200 USD to dg and replace.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it could be the spark plugs?
