So I borrowed a friends USB that he used to sucessfully up dated his 2009 E92.
I have a 2012 335is w/ idrive. I already got my code from Serg.
So I put the USB in the grove box slot, and wait and wait and wait.
So I go to the idrive menu, settings, then software update and again nothing happens.
The lite on the usb flashes, so I know the port is working.
I have sent music to the hard thur that port too.

Any suggestions,.... Please

Files have to be in the root of a FAT32-formatted stick. (ie not in a folder on the stick)

I'm on Shaw.. I'm guessing they're doing something to limit my speed. I have a 50Mb connection. But my top download speed is 500kb/s. If you're uploading at 1Mb/s or higher then I should be seeing a faster connection. Oh well, another 5 hours and I'll be on my way. I've already got the code from Sergej.

As am I - I rarely get more than that from torrents. Sometimes I'll get a ton more for a short period (I think the best ever was about 3 Mbps). 50 Mbps is possible - just not for torrents.

I'm sure that when Shaw decides to deliver "content" via their pipe that all of that will be pushed out at the max speed the pipe can deliver.

I have the exact problem with my 2009 e90. I have the files on the root of the drive. The light on the USB drive lights up, but the NAV never tells me there is an update available. I went to the dealer and they said there is no update for my iDrive. They want $300.00 plus to do the update themselves. It sucks that we are the only few who can't use the USB method to update.....

I sent everything on the memory stick to my PC. Then Formatted the stick to FAT32. and now i'm sending everything back to the stick and will try it again.

..and use the USB port in the *glove box*.....

If you continue to have problems, you might want to check elsewhere in the forum for notes about your build date and/or do a VIN check to ensure whether you have a CCC or CIC. I'm an 11 E90 so am CIC (which is what this update was for) - CCC is DVD from what I understand.

There's a lotta reading and a lotta "what to dos" in here -- not always in the easiest to find locations!

How can I access the torrent file for the 2013 Navigation Update? It's my first time using a torrent to download. I enter the torrent name, but no action. Seems straightforward but doesnt seem to work. Hoping to get the file loaded up and see if the wife's 09 e93 335i(1-31-09 build) and my 09 F02(4-28-09 build) will take the USB update.

Download and install uTorrent (Windows or Mac versions available), download the attached file in post #58 of this thread. Remove the .txt extension on the file, double click the file once the .txt extension has been removed and uTorrent should open. Click the start button in uTorrent and it should start downloading your file, assuming someone's seeding the file. Caveat if you're running Windows: I'm a Mac guy, so uTorrent may perform differently in Windows. Hope that helps

I have bit torrent manager built into my CloudStor. I tested with another torrent and it works. Once someone seeds the torrent from this thread, I should be able to get it.
I will do the seeding thing to help others once I get it for myself. I have FiOS, so that should make upload/download faster(from reading through others posts in the thread)

Not much action going on with the torrent. I don't see anyone downloading the file. Are there any other seeders out there seeing download action? Surely the interest didn't dry up that quick?

I got it downloaded pretty quick last night. Only a couple of hours but there was 12 seeders at that point

I have no peers right now either. The torrent seems to do this on and off. Unless no is really downloading it...

so I downloaded it, open its and a ton letter, number, symbols. What am I doing wrong. I have downloaded the Torrent. But don't know how to find the 2013 BMW nav update. Anyone that can help a beginner ?

If I'm understanding "clearly", you opened the actual .torrent file you "downloaded" from thread here with a text editor of some type? If yes, that's just a pointer file "so to speak" to the actual files you need to install on a USB stick to do the upgrade. You need a torrent downloading program, "google and download" uTorrent for whatever operating system you're running. I'm running MacOSX, I just double click on the .torrent file and it opens the uTorrent program, which should provide you the option to start the download.

I've been trying to download the file as well, but no seeders...

Please seed and I will keep the torrent running until month's end as well..
