Our engine/wheel cleaner is pretty strong and it could etch bare metal surfaces if apply under heat or let sit for too long, just like any other high pH chemicals. with that said, it's pretty safe to use under correct usage. Now when it comes to wiring and alternator, regardless of products, you should not soak those area or use extreme pressure (pressure washer). Moister is no friend of electrical components.
