im sorry guys but the thread is so long, has this drone issue been resolved? i read through a few pages and it seems like people are trying different things here and there to solve it but is there anything for sure? i don't mind a bit of drone but i just don't want a headache

all you had to do was go two pages back...two corks, doesn't kill the drone completely but it does help.

If the drone is noticeable and people are complaining, why doesn't AA redesign their exhaust? I like my mods to work right out of the box- no tinfoil, no duct tape, peanuts, or corks required.

it's only noticeably loud when you hit 2-2.5k rpm. I do a lot of high way driving so I just switch to 5th gear on the highway and it disappears. But it is a beautiful sounding exhaust.

I had AA on my M3.. let's say I was fairly disappointed. Drone is a deal killer for me.

To be honest guys, any aftermarket exhaust will have drone. It is impossible to avoid, and drone is "subjective". I do agree that my AA is louder than the other exhaust systems, i.e. Eisenmann, Remus, etc. However, the Eisenmann and Remus both do have drone IMO. But you are paying a premium for it.

However, compared to a muffler delete and the Ikon, the AA exhaust is not that bad at all. It's just at 2-2.5k. Above that range or below it sounds completely stock. If AA can find a fix, as I said before, I will be an extremely happy customer since I do love the sound.

I will do a resonator delete if AA can somehow find a solution to minimize the drone.

Do you have first hand experience with droning from an Ikon? Other Ikon owners claim no drone, even with resonator deletes.

Shit - you were in mine... D and DS, ANY speed, acceleration between 2k-2.5k rpm, more load (uphill) more drone.

A fix would be in order, in my opinion. I'm ready to get rid of mine.

Sport mode is not the fix. I'm in sport mode all the time.

I think he meant put it in sport mode and change the gear so you're not in the range of the drone.

Yeah put the rubber dampener from the stock exhaust onto him exhaust. It helped with the vibrations but mind you this customer never complained about anything to begin with.
