Is it possible for N54 to sound like this??

I know e46 M3 sounds raspy kinda high pitch and our N54 sounds more deep tone but is there any exhausts out there that sounds similar to this?

^lol basically

Delete all cats and resonators, and you'll be as close as you can get to that CSL with a FI engine. Rasp for days.

Why would you like your car to sound like that?

n54 is deeper and less high pitched...so only way to get that raspy sound is catless and no resonators.

If you think that sounds like a civic, I think there might be something wrong with you. You will never get that sound from a N54. Its a straight 6, that's a V8. The way the exhaust pulses merge and flow is what creates the exhaust note. V8's and Straight 6's will always have a different exhaust, no matter which exhaust, cats, resonators or lack thereof.

Nothing wrong with a good sounding E46 M3, (its an iconic sound for inline 6 BMW's) but if you want that sound you need that engine and more importantly you dont want 2 turbo's muffling the sound like on the N54.

You can run N/A mode on some tunes, it would sound close to that if you have a good aftermarket exhaust, however, power output is sub 200HP.

That video shows an E46 M3 which is inline six s54b32 engine. To the op the sound of this particular M3 has been sought after by some in the e46 community, but to answer your question it will be difficult to achieve this sound for the simple fact of the n54 being twin turboed. Even if you removed cats/resonators or essentially ran straight pipes you would still have trouble achieving this sound quality due to the turbos. IMO the sound of the n54 on a single turbo/open waste gate sounds much sexier than this, I guess the n54 sounds good in its own way lol.

Oh shit, I glanced at this and watched the video you cant really see the car as it goes by. I thought it was a new M3. You are correct. Inline 6. Well I stand very corrected. Sounds mean for an I6

I am also looking for that exhaust tone.
With the right setup (cat and resonators removed) it may sound similar but never deep like V8.

Check out the clip above, you might like this setup.

Why is everyone talking about V8's?! They're both I6!! OMG haha

That sound is far from "ricey" Sorry but you need to get your ears checked LOL. I would think a Meisterschaft exhaust would give you the closest sound.

Straight pipe or hpf exhaust. Probably as close as you'll get

It really is an impossibility to get a tone like that from a boosted car. Turbo's change the sound of the exhaust and muffle it substantially. There are some pretty sick sounding turbo exhausts as well.

Check out my HPF exhaust man, I think you'll like it! some of the higher tones get cut out because it's a cell phone. I can't post vids so search "MikesMetalandSpeed" on YouTube I've got a couple clips of it on there!
