Which looks better - grey or silver? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

FINAL RESULTS OF 3-DAY POLL:

Silver: 7 poll votes + 5 posted votes = 12 total
Grey: 7 poll votes + 1 posted vote = 8 total

SILVER WINS, 12 to 8!
Thanks everyone, that actually helped a lot.
Had to pay a vet bill of $1800, a non-CPO (!?$#) repair for $500, and it's still snowing like a mofo here anyway, but when I recover from all that, looks like Silver should be what She's wearing this spring.

ORIGINAL POLL:
Just curious what kind of comments you have for which colour best suits a Monaco E91, or if I will just get a 50/50 response curve based on personal preference?

Black is too much for my dark Monaco, but I like the "slightly angry" look of the matte grey, and it gives me future options like Blackline, OSS reflector wrap, smoke side lenses and stuff to complement (which I can do regardless)... buuuut then everytime I look at the existing stock OEM silver I think, "hm. that looks good too." Crap.

I quick-and-dirty 'shopped each on the stock pic, also shown. Ignore the gap...

Note the "stock / background" pic is "as-is" from the listing when I originally got it. The only visible change so far is I corrected the tint to be 23% all around from whatever was previously on the back-half.

Fire away.

WHEEL:

Breyton Race GTS (PHOTOS COURTESY TIRERACK.COM) (I know there are 200 variations on this theme. Miro's etc etc... these are the ones I finally think maybe I might go with...probably.)
Matte Grey or Hyper Silver
19" staggered 8.5 et 30, 9.5 et 35 (as I just posted elsewhere I at least finally decided on 19" for sure...)

But I do appreciate the opinions! Even with only 3 votes, what it's telling me is, "No wonder I can't decide, they both have merit." My Wife will be happy, she voted silver also.

Hunh. Well THAT was unexpected!
7 to 4 for Silver over Matte Grey (so far). I really thought the matte added a certain flair - notwithstanding at least one of the grey votes is first-hand Monaco-on-Grey experience, so that should really count for at least 2 votes.

There is a VMR studio-pic post in here of a blue-on-grey which I thought looked nice (helping me originally think grey was a good choice) - but I think the blue looks like maybe Montego and the Grey was glossy however, both of which would make a difference in the final look of course.

Seems to be settling down at about 2:1 for silver over matte grey.
-----> Silver: 8+4 = 12
-----> Grey: 5+1 = 6
Still surprised, and appreciate the input!
