I'm fairly certain at this point my wastegate is taking a dump
What were the telltale signs for some of you?
I am getting a metallic grating whoosh sound under certain acceleration and during idle a clattering rattle.

Why isn't your BMW dealer reacting? You still have a warrenty! They should repair it...

Last visit they told me the wastegate is "fine."
But now it is really pronounced. It doesn't happen when revving in P or N. I don't know if it's the turbo or WG. So I'm looking for experiences. YouTube seems to tell me it's WG.

Meh. Everything is "normal." DINAN software tells the cars to build more boost earlier. The turbo sounds like it's making obscene noises like a slide whistle up and down and a grating spooling sound I just never heard before. Ah well, I'll just wait for an engine light.

Can you get a sound clip of it?
Ever since my JB4 was installed, I get a weird metallic gurgle sound around 1800 to 2800 RPM in normal driving. I am guessing wastegate, but don't think it is a problem other than an annoying noise. |
