Whats going on everybody?
To start off, I've pretty much invested more into this car than any other vehicle I've ever owned and with that being said this will be my first time every messing with suspension. My previous car was a G35 w/ sprt pckg and I used to love the way that car handled and overall looked stock. It seemed that whenever I drove, the car would hug the road as I took corners, it had a more sporty feel compared to the bimmer. It seems like in the bimmer's suspension has a soft and relaxed feeling to me, it doesn't seem like Im a part of the road as I drive through corners and things of that nature. I've found some Megan Racing coilovers http://www.hopupracing.com/meraeucobmw0.htmland these have to be by far the cheapest I've seen coilovers(under $1000 ) ,especially, for our cars and also I was looking at the Eibach Pro-System Kit http://www.hopupracing.com/eiprkitbmw3s.html I was looking at just getting some springs just to give the car a little more aggressive look, but at the same time from what I've read about just buying those, I would eventually have to buy shocks and what ever else to keep everything in tact. In addition, I read that some of the different springs still wouldn't give me that flush look, which is what Im going for. So with that being said does anyone have these coilovers/ pro system or has used them before and also which would you prefer? Another question relating to the coilovers, are coilovers a complete system as in I wouldn't have to buy anything else to keep everything intact?

that pro-system kit is springs and shocks/struts together...
The springs in the kit alone are $250 or so. It's a good kit from what I've heard, if you want a drop of .5-.7" or so from ZSP height. |

If you're going to spend around $900, I'd go with something that's TUV approved and made by German specialists. Those Megans are Taiwanese. From what I've researched, they're bone-jarringly stiff even on the softest setting. I used to have Function Form coilovers on my 2002 Honda Accord, made in the same factory, and they were an absolute backbreaking, awful ride. I know they say 32 levels of adjustment, but in actuality, they probably only have 4 levels of adjustment. You can't feel any difference really switching between the levels of coilovers like these ones... it's more of an advertising gimmick.
For $900, you could get a much more solid setup that would last a lot longer and ride a lot nicer with KW (arguably the most world-renowned) components... ST Speedtech (V1) or Eibach Pro Street S. I actually just purchased Eibach Pro Street S this week for $935 brand new and shipped to my door. I chose the Eibachs, because I read that the ride is superb (if not better than stock), the handling is on rails, and the bodies are stainless steel making them impenetrable to rust/corrosion. BTW, coilovers are the full suspension setup (springs, perches, shocks, collars, dust boots, etc), so you would not need to buy any other components, although other components are suggested, such as new strut/shock mounts, bushings, end links, etc. They're suggested, not necessarily needed. |

Megan is garbage.
For the same price, STV1's are literally a no brainer...to be honest i dont even know why your asking this question ![]() Do you really feel like unbolting the bottom of the shocks and adjusting the locking collars for the shock body as well adjusting the collars for the spring perch everytime you want to lower/raise the car?? Or would you rather just have to adjust the spring perch collars only without unbolting any of the susension. Not to mention a 5 year warranty over a 1 year warranty? Megans are the same garbage coils that come from same factory(ies) as K-Sports, BC's, GodSpeed's, Stance, D2's, etc. |

If you want a nicer suspension setup though for under $1k, ST V1 or Eibach Pro Street S would be your best options. I purchased mine from Autoplicity.com for $935 shipped. Yay for another V6P brethren! My Function Form coilovers were the Type 1, and it was way too stiff for daily use. Idk about the Type 2 though since those are damper-adjustable. |

$910.15 + $25 ground shipping = $935.15 shipped I ordered these from them last Thursday, and they do ship from the manufacturer, so they told me it'd take longer. I just emailed them last night to cancel my order since they didn't have them in their current inventory. I don't want to have to wait like a month. You may have been looking at the Multi Pro, which is the damper-adjustable coilover by Eibach. |

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm looking into coils and am looking at the eibach setup. Can anyone who owns them chime in regarding their ride height levels? I saw above the max drop was .7 inches but every site I've seen them on states it's more like 2 inches max drop.
Thanks |
