welding cats on exhaust - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hey Guys,

I need an inspection. I have an ar catless downpipe. I am wondering if I can weld cats on my exhaust to get rid of the cel and pass inspection. Does anyone know if this is possible? I have an ae performance exhaust.

You might pass a sniffer test like that but it won't fix the thrown CEL.

so i am assuming everyone who has a n55 and a catless downpipe are just uninstalling and reinstalling their downpipes?

When COBB comes out with stage 2+ for the N55 I will be doing that, point of no return, except once a year for emissions.
