E90 sport suspension upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their non-sport suspension to the sport suspension from an e92. I found a set for cheap online so let me know as soon as possible.

Everything fits, but the E92 has shorter springs in the rear than the E90 does with sport package, so your rear end will be lower than the front.

I don't think I have a pic anymore, but yes it was noticeable that the rear was a bit too low. My friend asked me if I had too much junk in the trunk, lol. I had them on for a while, and took them off because I got some proper E90 rear springs. Off the car, I measured the springs (uncompressed), and the E92 rears were nearly and inch shorter than the E90 springs.


The rear E92 springs were marked "D3" and the rear E90 springs were marked "D4".

Sorry I meant to say mine are marked d2 in the rear and d6 front

D6 would probably work up front if you got lowering perches, but the rear D2's are going to be too low I think. they may even be lower than the D3 rears.

sounds like those came off a manual trans 335i coupe.

Well everything I read says they should both work front and rear idk what lowering perch would do

Just to follow up I got the suspension on and it looks great. Not huge noticeable difference in appearance but it does sit a little lower. The back doesn't appear(to me at least) to be lower than the front.
As for the handling: noticeably stiffer and less body roll for sure I'm happy with my decision to do this.

Sorry guys, I'm new to this forum and i don't know how to post my questions.

I have a none-sport suspension with 19" BMW Style 230. I wanted to upgrade struts and shocks to Koni so i can keep the stock springs and i can also adjust it a bit firmer. The car looks decent in 19" wheel. If i purchased Koni yellow set, it it work in my car? Do i need any other components? Please give give you inputs. I really appreciate it.

yes, the konis will work fine. you'll reuse some of your factory hardware when you swap them over. it will be obvious once you see them side by side.

Just pay attention to the washer below the upper mount. it has a stripe on one side and is higher in the middle. it must be replaced the same exact way, or you'll get noise.

Is this for the struts or rear shocks. I need to know so i can pay attention to it.
