New Member here :)

Hey whats up everyone? I'm new to the forum but not new to the car scene. I'm coming from a well modded Evo x and was looking for something more "family" lol well at least thats what my wife was looking for since we're looking to start a family real soon. Soooo i stumbled my way across a white 4dr 2008 335xi, not knowing crap about bimmers and never been in one i found myself in aw with the navigation, the gadgets and leather. But lets face it the twin turbos and the awd made it a no brainer. So now i find myself here with you fine gentleman trying to learn more about the car.

I read up on the jb4 stage 3 chip and that seems the direction i'll be headed unless you guys think its no bueno. I'm also in the market for a nice aggressive cf lip so i'm open to suggestions. I'm experienced with the cobb ap which i used with my evo but i leaning towards the chip only because i really don't want to swap out the down pipe or upgrade the exhaust. I just want to keep it simple and add the open cone filters. I still have 1 year of the origional warranty left so i need to play it safe. I believe i have the " non sport " steering wheel with the fat air bag so i will be looking to swap that down the line. So to those who actually took to time to read my biography thank you lol. I'm hooked and my next trade in will be for a new 335xi i just didn't want a payment for awhile. Thanks for the welcomes and i'm sure you guys will see me around in here often.

Welcome! You'll be impressed with the tunability of the N54 and the jb4 is an excellent tune.. You can't go wrong with any of the major tune options.. But for your particular needs jb4 is the easiest route

Post pics!!! And definitely ditch the non sport steering wheel

Welcome to the BMW scene. I have the jb4 and I love it. The fact that you can go to the dealer on map 0 and get your service done is a huge + for you. I don't "race" so the jb4 works great for the extra ~30 hp you get on map 1. Where in jersey are you?

Welcome and enjoy the car. As far as a tune, I run the cobb ap . I'm not trying to sell you on one or another , but like someone who posted earlier said you can't go wrong with any of the major tunes. I do like the ease of the installation of the cobb or uninstallation when going to the dealer as my car still has a little over a year on the cpo. When I first installed my cobb on stg 1 agg. it netted me 70 whp/ 80 + wtrq on my 335xi with 6at. GLW your choice.

Thats pretty impressive for stage one. Cobb aps are amazing but that stage 2 would be too tempting lol.

When buying this car from the dealership they said the engine is highly sought after and amazing to tune. My thoughts were a 400hp sleeper sounds good to me.

Oh and im in pine hill nj which is south jersey for the person who asked.

Anyway im glad to be here a riding with the big dogs.

Welcome and your first mod for xi should be a good suspension setup ... U can go cheap route and get springs but it will just make ride horrible ... I'd get kwv1's not just for better handling and looks but also to put all that power down safely.

And go for Cobb if u will be taking your car to the dealer often, most stg 1 tunes will give same HP more or less.

Seems like you guys are saying cobb is the better route. I should have did a poll. I do love the economy mode though especially for my 20 mile commute to work. Im going straight power first bc I wont really use it too often but just like knowing I have that ace in my sleeve if I need it. Suspension will b w next for sure.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new ride.

I am located in South Jersey (Mt Laurel area). Once the weather warms up, there are a few of us that meet up, go on cruises and meets together. There are also meets in King of Prussia once it warms up that we drive to together.

Hope to see you around and congrats again. Welcome!
