Bluetooth failure

Hey all,

Searched for this, but there's no definitive answer!

My Bluetooth (2006, 320D SE auto) has stopped working. When I go through to the screen to select BT, instead of a picture of a telephone there's 2 dashes, and selecting it does nothing.

I'm guessing its a failure of the unit, but these are £500. Any other ideas?

Since this has been a problem, the radio is also skipping intermittently every couple of minutes.

Many thanks.

I have somehow similar problem. My bluetooth telephone connection is gone, phone cannot find my car (2008 M3, i-drive) and my remote door opener quit too. I have no idea if this is the same problem, or just two separate ones.

Power door lock switch inside the car works, and I can lock all doors turning the key, just the remote quit. I don't thing that's battery problem, since both remotes quit working.

Any ideas? Does bluetooth have its own fuse? Which one?

Thanks for any help.

I just did a retrofit of the Bluetooth and I'm pretty familiar with what goes into installing oem bluetooth. What you'll need to replace will depend upon if you have BMW Assist (you will know if you have this feature if there is an SOS button in your overhead console in between the two map lights)

If you don't have an SOS button (this button should be in between the two map lights in the overhead console) this is what you'll need to replace http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=783895

If you do have an SOS button, this is what you'll need to replace http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599310

The unit (either one) is located inside the trunk underneath the trunk floor near the seatbacks of the rear seats.

How do I know this unit is broken? Maybe it is just blown fuse or something like that? How is it related to nonoperational remote door lock transmitter?

As far as I know there should be no correlation between bluetooth function and nonoperational door lock transmitter. Just for the record, when I performed my bluetooth retrofit, there was nothing changed to the fuse box. I simply installed the MULF2 module and had the car programmed.

Right. How do I know? My bluetooth works now, it "fixed itself", and door opener still doesn't...

I guess I'm in wrong tread...
