I hear that they are different. I look at mine and my friend's they look similar.
Maybe, there's hidden piping I don't see that is different.

It's the same I installed an n54 intercooler on my car

I heard that the piping is different but you can get the piping and it'll fit the same. some intercoolers you gotta do some cutting anyway.

Yeap direct bolt on. It fit perfectly. And I also bought one of the biggest intercooler in the market haha

What about the oil cooler? I am upgrading my fmic and I was told by the shop to get the fmic with larger oil cooler.

I believe different #s.

Last I checked some have different piping but perhaps there may be an intercooler out their that still bolts right up.

I am looking at getting an n55 ER intercooler, I currently have an n54 coupe.

Do you guys think I will have trouble?

The dimensions are the same but the piping changed in early 2009 (actually on the N54 models). We sell the extra piping and hardware for the later cars, both N54 and N55.
