Headlight Washer Won't Retract

I have a 2011 BMW 328 iXdrive. My headlight washers won't retract.

It's been really cold here in NYC (below freezing). Could this have anything to do with it? The last time I pulled the lever to clean my windshield, I probably ran out of fluid.

Any help is appreciated?

One of mine doesn't retract most of the time, I just push it back in. It could be the cold. In my case it isn't.

I'm not a huge fan of the retractable headlight washers myself.....

Wish I could get heated seats without having to get the whole "Cold weather" package

Im wondering if its a combination of things...possibly the cold mixed with a mechanism that needs cleaning.....We can not see if the washer comes out and goes back in from inside the car. we need a helper.....Now that it is warmer....see if the problem persists.

if that washer is slow to go back into its holder....then you need to clean the mechanism...

I have not explored this one yet.....anyone know how these things work?
