Fxx Keys - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

So at the weekend i picked up my new F21, all good, bar the hifi (that's all my own fault though)

something that has really irritated me though is the key... it's HUGE!

i'll need to start wearing cargo trousers i think, also... wtf am i meant to do with it when driving, i mean if i put it in a cubby hole etc... the keys on the rest of my keyring are going to scratch the fuck out of where ever it lays..

grr, just a mini rant :s

I can't really understand why they never made comfort access standard in relation to not needing the key to start the car as half of it is already there. Needing the key to unlock the door, but not needed to start the engine seems daft to me. I think I prefer the key dlot on my E90 as the key is out of the way then...

Thats always been my thought with "key less" go.
I like the key having a place it needs to be!
Suppose its a matter of getting used to

maybe it's a trojan horse to get you to just spec CA next time and be doen with it!

with that in mind, i wonder if the remote start will make a CA retro-fit potentially easier/possible at all in the coming years. meh

I quite like the Fxx key set up. (Though I agree the key is a little large.) I had CA on my E91 and always thought the locking procedure was ridiculous. Pressing my finger against the door handle? I might as well be stood there using a real key. I'd never spec it again on any car. With the Fxx I just put my hand in my pocket to lock and unlock. Fnarr...
