Thanks, JSH3. I agree with your comment. Seems a shame to use the Garmin instead of the built in system but you're right, that's not why I bought the car... Maybe they will eventually provide a real upgrade to the system

How do you know this?
(and does that mean that if it's showing 105, I'm actually doing only 100?)

The European regulation, ECE-R 39, is more concise, stating essentially that the speed indicated must never be lower than the true speed or higher by more than one-tenth of true speed plus four kilometers per hour (79.5 mph at a true 70). Never low. |

That will, though, probably only help me to speed even more....

I have also successfully updated my Navigation from 2009 to 2013 premium. Thanks to Sergej for the FSC code and all the seeders.
Just did the update this morning on my way to work, I think it took approximately 40 minutes. |

I am sooooo bummed out. I have a 2009 328 xDrive with a build date of 09/08 and the USB stick doesn't work on my car. The dealer wants $200.00 plus about 1.5 hrs of labor for a total of almost $400.00 to do the update. I am one of the very few with a build date that the USB stick won't work.

Just updated 10/2008 build. At first I tried copying the entire downloaded torrent file to my usb and the idrive would not recognize it.
I tried copying the pkgdb AND config.nfm to the flash drive and the update notice popped up in about 45 seconds. |

Hi everyone, I just got my usb key for updating the maps but before ordering the code from Sergej I just want to be sure that it will work considering my CIC and radio unit were replaced under warranty last month. I had updated maps last year but the new CIC is back to 2010 maps. Since BMW doesn't have a record of my buying a code I didn't ask them to put the updated maps back.. I have a 2011 e91 07/2010 build. What do you guys think? Will I be ok with the code?
thanks. Edit: forgot to mention, I asked Sergej already but it's been a day without a reply. Last edited by MrMike; 02-07-2013 at 01:58 PM. |

I was in communication with Sergej today. We went back and forth a few times. He even provided me with an attachment and links for the update torrent. He requested 50 euro for the FSC code. Hopefully this will work on my vehicle (2010 X6 ActiveHybrid - built 11/09.
I tried to elicit help from xbimmers.com about how to copy the downloaded files over to the flash drive, but I did not receive a response. I see just above that all I have to do is copy the pkgdb folder and the config.nfm file onto the flash drive and the car will recognize it. Is this correct? |

For those of you that upgraded from 2009 or 2010 to the new 2013, other than updated roads, have you noticed any difference? For the Maryland and Virginia folks, have you tried it on 495 around Alexandria? Has the freeway been updated in the maps?

One other question, in addition to my VIN, Sergej asked me what region maps I want. I thought the USB update contained all regions, including Puerto Rico. If not, what region should I be requesting? I live in Virginia. Is this east coast region?

Sergej replied and told me he'd send the code immediately after receiving payment, unless it is too late in the evening. In that case he'd send the code in the morning. I just paypal'd him so hopefully he'll come through with he goods.
