i've gone through 4 sets of tires now and 2 rims. work in newark and for a trucking company LOL. pot holes are scary around here. theres one on the street i work, its a little smaller than a man hole cover and whenever i drive past it i cant see the bottom
best investment i could have made as for deliberately running over nails...just dont do it |

first... prob bad idea to knowingly perform fraud for personal gains
2nd... ITS NOT AGAINST HIS COMPANY... it's against an insurance company. and his company gets all the $$$ for the repair/replacement. 3rd given how my claims went down I wouldnt piss on the insurance company to put a fire out. ppp

"run over nails, but make sure you only mess up two at a time" I laughed when he told me that and didnt believe him, but now... i totally believe him. |

The bmw dealer had a shitty wheel tire policy like $799 for 3 years and pro-rated bla bla bla. I went back to Inifiniti and they wrote it for the bmw too... 5 year unlimited claims , no prorated $400-429 total. ppp

High-performance/low-profile fancy wheels have no place in New England no matter how careful you are. But I still love em.

I have the stock 17" non-sport wheels 225/45/17 thinking that the 17's would be cheaper to fix and repair over the 18 sport wheels. When I bought the car the dealer wanted to sell me on the 3 year wheel insurance plan. Thinking back maybe I should have considered it. I have had 3 tires with bubbles, and now one cracked rim with in 2 years so far. I forget how much the insurance was and I am not sure if I would have made or lost money. knowing what I know now and for the right price it might be a good investment.

1st claim was around $400 or so for a rear tire
2nd claim was around $900 for tire, rim & alignment (* alignment not covered under warranty) I've always made back what i spent on the tire warranty and then some... they just ripped me for some of the $$$. I ended up going after the transit authority for the remainder... however im sure transit authority would have paid 100% of the claim. Warranty on the runflats was the first thing i bought for the bmw , way too expensive to replace, way too quick getting damaged by pot holes, etc. lol i have a full size spare and a dip stick... im happy ![]() ppp

Wheels need to be big enough to clear the brakes, and that is about it. I run 16's in the winter and 17's in the summer, and never an issue. The 3rd gen (?) runflats the new cars come with seem to be MUCH better than the older ones all around, including the issues with bubbling. Also interesting that BMW has jacked up the recommended tire pressures considerably - my '11 has a sticker on the door jamb with the new recommendations that superceed the manual. I suspect this will help as well. Still, my car will get non-RFT when the time comes, they are just too expensive.

I bought warranty when I bought a car (it cost $430 for 5 years). I was thinking the same when I bought it. But I got flat tires accidently 3 times because roads in NJ are horrible.
