Yes as per any other radial tyre, so long as you havent actually ran it flat. IF youve run it while very low on pressure or completely flat then it is scrap.

Went to a local tyre place. Think it was £10 per tyre.

Quite a few places will even tell you it's illegal! Illegal like robbing banks or shooting people. It's not.

The usual conditions apply. If it's near the sidewall then it's a no go. And RFTs aren't really designed to be taken off and on wheels. The fitter needs to be careful. Removing the tyre from the wheel can cause damage to the inside of the sidewall.

Cheers Rich, after reading your comments it looks like it could be a new tyre!?

If it's in the centre section of the tyre (like non-RFTs) and they get the tyre off without damaging it then you're OK.

Run my own tyre company it's fine to do as long as in the 3/4 centre tread area and they say the rft should not have traveled more than 50 miles the fitter will know when he removes if it's ok as he will be able to check inside sidewall for any damage due to heat build up,also 10 is the norm

also if when the tyre is removed off the alloy if it has rubber fillings inside its most likely will be scrap as the tyre wall will have worn away

Post up where you are mate. I'm sure there are some Welsh members who'd be happy to know you'll repair run flats. Better than Kwik-Shite saying no and charging 200 quid for a new one.

Why would they need to remove the tyre if its in the centre. Dont they just 'plug' them not sure of the technical term, but thats what they did to mines.
