Quite a few guides show how to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery but I needed to replace the battery in my 330i and I couldn't find any guides that explained how to remove it so here we are.
I understand that for many people this procedure will be self explanatory but... |

07 335i battery change
Hubby and I are working on replaced the battery in his 335i using the DIY. Great job of explaining the process. While I was out getting the new battery he was doing the di-assemble. We are wondering about a black bus with one wire coming out of it. He didn't see it on dis-assemble and has no idea where it came from. We have stopped installation and am looking for ideas as to what the h..l it is.

Changed my battery for an OEM replacement today, going to register it myself when my cable arrives in a few days. A few notes about my experience:
- The 90 ah exude battery was $205 from my dealer and did not include a vent elbow - Removal of the old battery was very straight forward, only needed 8 and 10 mm sockets. - The only difficult part was removing/installing the larger 90 ah battery into the compartment. I ended up using zip ties to tie all of the cables out of the way after a few failed attempts. - On first restart I had 4x4, DTC, and hill start assist errors which went away after a few hundred yards of driving. Also had to reset the time. - The original battery was still working and had not failed but was showing signs of failure, and the indicator on top was not lit at all. |

Well car is at a shop where I had appt to get it programmed in the morning. Hope it's just a dead battery or fuse. I checked the connections like 4 times, it looks tight.

Cool, I will probably pick one of these batteries at Walmart. The price now is 109.00. There is also the Energizer one but only Sams club has it and is $99.00 dlls but then you have to have a memberhip. So problably Walmart will be the one to go with.
Did you take it to a shop to have it registered, or did you do it yourself? Thanks |

Interesting. . . Before I buy one, I will call my local dealer and ask for the price on the OEM battery instead. I will install it myself and have it registered with a bmw tech i know. Thx.

I installed my Walmart battery perfectly fine. And my indy registered it for $30. Just make sure you know the amp hours of the battery for them to code it with when registering.
