I really dont want to pay someone 200 in labor to put a fucking batt in.

Your car is far above anything that autozone can handle...go to a proper Indy tech or dealer.

Especially since the problem may be with the IBS and not the alternator or battery.

FWIW, my dealer quoted $950 for an OEM alternator (luckily it was covered under warranty).

Yes it is beyond them. Multi meter use on a bmw charging system is a crapshoot since The IBS sensor tells the ECU how much to charge the battery, so you can have a lower charging state and a high charging rate that are both normal depending on battery condition. Also, some times the alternator is not even charging to save fuel since it charges when needed. If your low charging light is not on, different than the low batter warning, the alternator is fine.

Well, this time they were right it was the battery.. Threw a durlast in there and had the batter reg by an indy shop
