I'm also a huge EDM fan and have been listening for a long time but I will no longer attend the concerts anymore due to the way the whole scene has become today.

I cannot stand the people who feel the need to dress themselves up in 10 different colored pieces of clothing followed by a bunch of ridiculous accessories. It's not creative, it makes you look fucking dumb.

Yup, I'm only 18 but I know that the scene isn't what its used to be. Nowadays its all bros and hoes wearing trucker hats saying "Where's Molly." I like to go for the music.

I was in Vegas by coincidence last year during EDM Vegas. Had some good laughs at some of the girls and how hard they were tripping. Made for some good times and fun stories though.

I love house and D&B, but then dubstep became popular and ruined everything...Never go to shows anymore, just too many dumb people there. And I mean that quite literally, as in low level intelligence.

I agree with your comments about dubstep. I really think it has fundamentally changed EDM and for the worse.

Used to go raving at least 3 times a week in the late 90's. I stopped going at 2000. I did go to EDC Vegas 2011 though. Good times.

I am also a big fan of EDM, I prefer not to call them "raves" it has such a negative stigma to it by the general public... Instead I refer to them as "Music Festivals" I have been to a few... One of the best ones was 2011/12 New Years Eve "White Wonderland" in Anaheim. Also saw Kasakade at the Staples Center...that was pretty awesome.

There is a place called the Yost Theater in Santa Ana that has EDM Artists/DJ's 2-3 nights a week and tix are usually only $20 to $40. A lot of big name Artists and Dj's have performed there recently and the place is not that big, so there is not a bad seat in the house. Zedd, Porter Robinson, Alvin Risk, Chuckie, Nervo have performed in the past...Swanky Tunes and Morgan Page are going to be there this month.

Club Marquee at the Cosmopolitan and XS at Encore are two of the best clubs in Vegas to see big Artists/Dj's without having to deal with the "Rave" atmosphere.

I stopped going to large scale EDM gigs when Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5 & now, little Porter Robinson dragged down the scene. The tunes can be catchy but it's got too commercial, too mainstream and the people who attend the gigs have no clue, no spirit and end up brawling. I miss the days (4yrs back?) when it was all about the music. This, coming from a young guy.

We had some awesome festival's over here, best heard of were Creamfields & Global Gathering but they've been overrun by the kind of idiots who go out, fight and grope women for fun on a Friday night. That's not to say that the women are any better, they nornmlly spin around in circles while attached to each other's hair by the fist, scream, claw and spit. All upper class citizens of course.

I haven't been to a Tiesto gig for years, for the same reason.
