Who gets the stretch?

Its an incorrect fitment. I don't get it. Can someone explain?

If you talking about tyres, it's so people can get larger wheels and go lower without the tyres rubbing on the wheel arches. I don't personally like stretch either.

Stretch is all a matter of personally preference, I personally like a little stretch when its necessary, nothing extreme though.

I have a little bit of stretch.. unintentionally though. When I was told they had nothing but 255's I just settled and later on found out its a style. It looks good IMO, not too much though.

Some may like the look, I personally dont like it. It is detrimental to performance driving, goes againts every BMW principle. Remember "The Ultimate driving machine"???

I think it looks horrible and like Toyo states it makes the handling worst.

The stretch/poke/stance scene is played out. There's nothing less original.

Ahhhhh, I KNEW there had to be some of my people on this forum!

Also not a fan of stanced, streched, and poked Bimmers. Or any car for that matter.

Yeah, it's not my thing. Sorry. All stance guys seem to think that dropping, poking, and stretching on BBS RSs is somehow original. I prefer stock to that stuff.

Just image search "BBS RS" to see how played out the look is:

http://images.search.yahoo.com/searc...oz35&va=BBS+RS

without mentionaing "poke", "stretch", or "air", every single car is set up exactly the same. Lame.

I agree. Bad/incorrect fitment. Looks like the owner stole the wrong size wheels!
Don't think I've seen a really stretched BMW up here. To each his own.

Agreed. Lowering is perfectly fine (if you live somewhere it is practical), as it improves handling. Something BMW might do from the factory if most people lived places it was practical.........

Totally out of spec wheel alignments or mis-fitted tire are detrimental to handling, though. BMW would never do that.

I realize it is a look, just not the look of a car that will handle well. Most people mod to improve performance not decrease it. I'm unclear on the image people are trying to convey by doing so.

Nothing more lame than someone with a stock 328i trying to shit on people with $5k+ in wheels and suspension...

Nothing more lame than someone equating spending way too much money on wheels and suspension with being cool.

NOTHING MORE LAME THANNNNNNNNN....

It's all subjective my good man...but shitting on people for no reason happens way too often on here. Typically from the older crowd. I see it here and on other forums as well. Frankly...I'm tired of seeing it...

There is no reason to judge someone else's mod choices. The person who spends alot on a bunch of M bumpers and performance chips is equal to the guy who chooses to spend tons of money on wheels and suspension. If you look around the forums there are many, many people with way too much money in their cars, there's nothing wrong with them if they chose to spend all that money on wheels and suspension.

There is nothing wrong with a nicely lowered BMW, and in many cases if you have wide wheels you do have to stretch a bit of tire to fit. On that note, the "stance" guys with illest stickers, roof racks they never use, and cracked oil pans from scraping are still pretty stupid.
