How is that a fix?

That's like saying the cure for a broken leg is to not stand on it.

Noticed drone around 2-2.5k rpm as others have experienced.

Questions:
1. it seems like one side hangs a little lower than the other (left lower than right). Can this be adjusted? It looks like you can loosen up that nut and adjust the height on the right side.
2. what tool is needed to adjust the tips?
3. does an intake system theoretically change the tone of the exhaust?

thanks
well ill respond to my own post here. Got the exhaust evened out and pulled the tips out a little bit and that helped reduce the droning.

Only problem is now my car VIBRATES/RATTLES very noticeably at 60mph ~2250 rpm. Im gonna try the wine cork method mentioned earlier but god damn its annoying.

Think it could be the install? Im gonna try and take it to a shop next week to see if they can figure anything out

It's normal, the only way to go is to get bigger resonators. I dont recommend that since it will just kill the sound.

If its Vibrating try adjusting the clamps and be sure its not touching anything especially the bumper. We have noticed some shift after installation and need to be re-adjusted.

Its not a fix, it just gets you out of RPM range where the drone is while you're driving...why stand on your broken leg and make it worse lol

Love the sound of this bad boy, just need to resolve that vibration. Thanks
in my e92 my rear euro tray rattles. I just stuffed it with microfiber cloths so it stays secure. Sometimes I have to readjust it but it's not too bad.

I also noticed if you hold stuff in your cup holders that will cause a rattling noise.

The main things that rattle in 328's are the rear ac vents and the rear tray sliding cover.

Are we any closer to a permanent fix for the drone or at least an idea of whats causing it? I'd really like to put the exhaust back on, but i wont until we know whats up. I'm sure others are wondering the same, just wasnt sure if you've gotten a car in the shop that you could test some theories on.

apparently you have to put the rubber dampener from the stock exhaust onto the AA exhaust. Not sure how its done though...

If anyone has already done this please share

We put the factory rubber piece on the exhaust and it helped a little with vibrations. The car did not have a large drone problem to begin with though.

I drove this car around for a little looking for drone and it is very faint. I still believe it gets worse depending on how its installed.

The car sounds and looks great though !

So tempted to get this Instead of the PE even with the discount I got on it. How much louder is it compared to the PE for those who have it? I'm still scared about the drone. >:

Also, andrew do you know shops in NJ that would be best to get this installed at If I were to get it, and/or would they carry it in the shop?

I have a 328xi 2008 with the N51
