A little late LOL, but spark plugs were the answer to the problem? I'm getting the exact same problem and bmw couldn't see any misfires with the mechanics machine. I told them that it's only when the jb4 is on that it does that. I have no usb cable but tried looking for codes on dash and it says that there aren't any codes

Without a usb cable you are most likely running out of date firmware.

I'm having this same problem, did you find any luck in replacing the spark plugs?

I was hoping the code reading off of the dash would tell me which cylinder was misfiring so that i would only have to buy one spark plug. But since the code reading is returning nothing, I will have to buy all 6 plugs

CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS RIGHT AWAY!!! It was exactly what the problem was! The car was running like a champ after !

I recently changed my chip setting and disabled the delete code setting, I replicated the issue and read the code. It says I have a misfire in cylinder 1.

bought a set of 6 bosch spark plugs and the spark plug tool. Going to replace them this weekend. wish me luck

Have the same problem this morning when trying to get to work...

The difference is that I changed my plugs about 2 months ago and did about 3K km on them. Cant be the plugs going bad this soon can it?!? :

If so, the Bosch plugs are total crap! :

I took the codes this morning from the dashboard but need to get to the office before telling what it is exactly... Cant seem to remember all those blinks-flash-blinks to know it on the spot :

Check coils by swaping from good cylinder to bad. Sticky is in the forum just follow missfire thread.

Didnt have time this morning to perform a coil swap test... Have to work for gas and parts and for the GF upkeep...

So... Finally got those codes translated, here they are:

JB4 is telling me I have 6 codes:
29D0 - Cylinder 4 misfire
29D2 - Cylinder 6 misfire
29CC - Several misfires (duh!)
3100 - Limp mode / Boost pressure deactivated
30FE - Overboost / Turbocharger charge air pressure too high

The last code is weird... It just stayed on the "0" on the dash so the code is supposed to be "0000" but cannot find anything regarding this error anywhere

I don't think that it's just the plugs or the coilpacks but any ideas are welcomed

P.S.: Has mentioned before, I changed my plugs about 2 months ago and didn't get any codes since then (before this morning).

Soooo... After a way too long weekend without a car, I got some news today.

They're going to change out all 6 injectors, the boost charge air pressure sensor, redo the 6 sparkplugs that I did 2 months ago, swap out the 6 coil packs and do a wallnut shellblasting of the intake cause it has more carbon than a coal miners lungs after 40yrs working without a mask.

All at no charge thanks to my 3rd party waranty.

Over 5,000$ of repairs! Damn I'm glad I shed out 2,800$ for that waranty

If all goes well, I should my baby back tomorrow
