Adding Bluetooth Audioto logic 7

Hey,

So I have searched high and low and can't land on a clean answer. I have a 2008 335i sedan and have essentially every option(logic 7, BMW assist, say radio, iPod interface, Bluetooth, etc) and I want to add in the Bluetooth audio option. Mainly so I can play music with having to connect my iPhone and so it maintains the Bluetooth calling function through a single Bluetooth pairing. That's why I don't want to buy and adapter or anything if the sort. My understanding is on the new models like 2010, 2011 they have this feature. Not know every single detail it seems to me that the required hardware should be there and really the software just needs to be updated. I have and can code my car and I don't see the Bluetooth audio as an option... So I am assuming the actual firmware needs updating.

Any advice or direction of how to get this knocked out would be massive!

Read the bluetooth sticky

I think you need the combox retrofit and I don't know what else.
The whole thing is complicated.
The easy way would be a Dension gateway 500s BT or a mobridge unit.
You did not mention if you have a regular radio or idrive though I don't
know if it makes any difference.

I have the regular radio... Non idrive. I have found some bits and pieces on the combox, I thought it was for i drive vehicles only though.

Read the bluetooth sticky and do a search.
It looks like you will have to jump through a lot of
hoops just for A2dp . The dealership will probably tell you
not possible due to the year of the the car .
This means changing several hardware modules and non standard
programming at the least I think.

No OEM HU supports OEM A2DP. You need to go Dension/aftermarket.

Go to the Dension website

Go to the Dension website
it works with either idrive or regular radio but gives much
more display info on idrive.
You may have to use the Dension ipod part of the module as oposed to the factory but it should be as good or better anyway.
I thought you said you didn't have Idrive what do mean idrive enabled?

Just as an update to this I solved my desire for the connivance of Bluetooth audio with a $15 adapter from eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-origina...item257b236ea6

I got an I - Wave BT audio to iPod 30 pin converter then set my radio to the aux input and boom i have nice convenient BT audio. In addition my phone (iPhone 5) manages the connection between the i-wave for audio and my phone calls and nav directions through the factory BMW phone pairing. It got me a 100% of the functionality i wanted with the only cost being maybe a bit more battery drain on the phone due to two BT connections, which I don’t care about.
