Hesitation on acceleration???

So,

I've noticed that when I'm flooring it in (I think) 3rd, and when the rpm hits about 6000, the engine hesitates a little; similar to a lift off the throttle, then half second later, it keeps going accelerating with all its might, and changes gear normally.

Anyone have any idea whats happening?

AT, 2006 330xi.
I've done this in D, and M (Manual) mode. I'm not sure if that happens on DS.

Sounds like a engine misfire, best check your spark plugs or ignition coils.

It's like clock work though. its same gear, same acceleration, same rpm.

and does not happen in any other gears, with the same accel and rpm.

If I were you I would try swapping and cleaning both intake and exhaust vanos solenoids. It is such an easy DIY that it is worth trying out. I had a sticky intake solenoid and was having reduced power over most the RPM range and a big flat spot in power at 3000 rpm (when the vanos system kicks in). Both solenoids are easily accessible from the front of the car and all you need to do is get some MAF cleaner to spray them down and compressed air to blow them clean. Once cleaned swap them (both parts are the same, so make sure to mark them) and reinstall. Check out this DIY to get an idea of what is involved:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=Solenoids

Honestly shouldn't take you more than an hour tops, the cleaning part is the longest part. When I had my problem it wouldn't always throw an error code so you might be having the same problem. Also, just because your car doesn't have a check engine light doesn't mean your car hasn't stored an error code. If you know anyone who can code ask them to pull your stored error codes using IPNALOAD. It may give you an idea of what is happening.

I'm having issues with my 6MT, similar to this...

BMW seem to think that replacing 3 fuel injects, the NOX sensor and the spark plugs will resolve the issue... but at $3250, I think I want to get options from a few people and decide from there... If it was just $500 thats fine, but 3250 is a bit of a waste if it doesnt fix the issue.

Problem is my car isn't throwing any issues.

I've already replaced all the coils (under the "product enhancement" scheme with BMW).

Guess I will just have to try replacing the cheapest parts first and see if that fixes it.. I have a set of spark plugs and the tool to remove them coming next week.

Press the DSC button quickly once to bring up the yellow DSC in the dash and then try to reproduce the fault.
