Had these fixed and they are great but apparently they don't have a wear sensor so I have to keep resetting it as it is coming up with service every month on the dash - can I disable this check at all?

I had them on my 335i, great pads, and they do come with the wear sensor 'notch'. Are they defiantly the correct pads?

IIRC There is a way around it, you need to loop the sensor wire, so cutting the cable then attaching the 2 ends. Do a google search it should come up.

steve as Darkant alluded to the wear sensor isnt in the pad it is just clipped on. Its quite easy to break them when swapping pads. The other thing is the condition based service reset. Either can give you an error. And no, although you can reset it all you cannot disable any of the checks in software that I am aware of.

I had these fitted at Darren Wood in Stockport ( BMW experts ) and they said they didn't accommodate wear sensors. I have the BMW BBK so they are actually 135i pads I will have a look on the Feredo site to see what is specified. I must admit I was quite surprised this was not the case.

You can't cut and join the wires that won't work.

Not sure what Woods have done, maybe they forgot to reset it?

If the pads don't accept the wear sensor, you just connect a new sensor to the lead and then cable tie it up out of the way on the strut somewhere, then it will never wear.

Easy.

PS: DS2500 are not ECE R90 approved, so technically they are illegal to use on the road (on cars made after 2001 I think?)

I have a full set of new DS2500 in the garage to fit a 320/325/330, bought in error for my 335i, but non returnable.

You could have had em Steve

i'm sure they have sensor cut outs? will check.

Thanks I think it will post on the 1 forum as the pads I have are actually 135i pads (bmw BBK fitment) but let me know anyway.
