Both Angel Eye LED's blown after battery change?
Immediately after I got a new battery installed, I got error code CC-ID 131 and it looks like both sides of my angel eyes are not working.
What could have caused this?

Electrical transient. Look for discoloration, and, sounds funny, smell them to see if they smell like burnt electronics. They are possibly toast.

Who did the work? checking fuses, checking smells, imho this is not helpful information, kind of generic and common sense. pre-LCI I would say go right to the bulb. But the failed bulb/LED is not going to determine the root cause, and it wouldn't make sense imho to experiment with a new LED, only to have the same result....

I think all e90s have halogen AE bulbs, they are like $20 each and a b!tch to put in on the driver's side.

I think I know what you are talking about, because of all the blank spots. ya, you have to like line up the actual fuses with what part of the diagram matches your fuses lol. then you can just count over fuses. It also helps to look at the fuse amperage because sometimes you can find a random 10amp or 15amp thats surrounded by 20amps and you can find your spot on the diagram.

Hmm - Tried looking today and again was having a really difficult time understanding what to look for and getting conflicted views that the e90's don't have fuses for the AE bulbs..

Are these aftermarket AE bulbs? And were you throwing error bulb warnings??

Yes they are aftermarket - but have worked perfectly fine for almost a year now without throwing any errors or warnings. It was immediately after the battery was replaced that they both blew.

Did you get your computer reset after you installed the new battery?
When you get a new one, your supposed to register it in the computer so that it is charged/discharged as a new battery. |
