Got Rear Ended Today

So yeah, as the title says. Its an 06 e90 bone stock. Other driver was at fault so their insurance is gonna pay for repairs. Currently waiting for a quote from a body shop. Im really looking to upgrade to the Mtech rear bumper. I was wondering on how much out of pocket I would have to pay for an upgrade. I understand that I won't know for sure until I get the quote, but I would like to hear from anyone else's experience. Any help is appreciated.

Here's a pic

You'll have to pay the difference in price and if any additional parts (screws and other hardware) are needed.
The difference in price will vary if you have the body shop order the part or if you buy it yourself.

Why not take it to an expensive shop. Get a quote send it to the insurance guys and they will mail you a check. Take that check and buy a M tech rear bumper and get it painted. Its cheaper this way. M3 rep bumpers are cheaper.

We had a mercedes get hit in the front and the fender. 4500 total damage! I couldn't believe it but we ended up just getting it done but if i were to just get a check I would profit about 3500 dollars.

I like the M3 rear but I prefer the M tech for the e90. As for getting a check ill look into it. Thanks

I was down sand lake rd, like a mile down from turning left on john young. Vehicle in front of me brakes pretty severe, im able to stop my car, (just put new rear brakes a week prior lol) but im guessing the driver behind me didn't react fast enough and rammed into me.

That definitely sucks...luckily nothing worse happened, though, and you're able to get a nice new bumper out of it!

Yup that's the plan. Honestly I expected much worse at the point of impact. When I got out I was relieved that both cars didn't suffer massive damage. As much as I like getting a new bumper, I would've preferred that it wouldn't of happened at all.

Do that. Mum did that after a side on with some idiot in some poxxy car, worked a treat with a little extra money for the hassle.

OP, If your car had a clean history prior, please look into the laws regarding diminished value or diminution of value in your state. It may end up paying for that upgraded bumper.
