Just installed it yesterday, Euro + K&N. Sound and power levels seem the same (minor, minor tone change), but the response is improved and seems to rev happier.

As an experiment I tried to see how it sounded with the top cover removed (the ram air effect from the factory ducting still "contributes" air toward the filter) to see if the sound changed, and it had a flat/echo-like tone that I did not like. Cover went back on, keeping it Euro-stock + for now!

There is a BMW performance air intake we can source from Europe which is different from the US spec version. It is used in conjugation with the N52 Euro airbox. HERE is a link to a custom cart with the BMW European Performance Air Intake System and the N52 Euro airbox.

The Euro Airxbox comes as seen HERE, there are not any carbon fiber components included with the N52 Euro Airbox. The European BMW Performance intake system found HERE, is designed to work with the N52 Euro air box and includes the carbon fiber induction section.

sorry for the questions.. so it appears that the N52 Euro Air Box is just the air box and filter only no other parts to it where as the BMW Performance Air Intake System come with the air duct, box (Smaller) and filter.. can the CF air duct bought alone? i dont see the need to spend 1400 for two boxes?? once again sorry for the questions but i was on hold with ECS Tuning for 37 min today...

The European BMW Performance intake system found HERE could be bought separately but it does not mate with the US Spec air box. It utilizes a majority of the components from the N52 Euro air box which are not found on the US spec airbox.

If you'd like to utilize your US Spec airbox there is a different BMW Performance intake system you would use which does not take advantage of the Euro airbox design but does fit the US spec airbox.
