Temporary Paint Protection Film

Hi everyone,

I came across this website that sells temporary clear bra:
http://www.ezshieldpaintprotector.com/

Has anyone used them before? I am thinking of using them instead of masking tape when I go on long road trips- to save my bumper and hood from nicks and dings.

Looks like a very elegant solution, but I don't know how well it works.

I actually got my car a couple of months ago and it came installed by previous owner, seems to do a good job and since I spend a fair amount of time on the hwy I'm gonna leave it on. Mine covers the front bumper, front part of the hood, side mirror covers, and lower rear bumper behind the tires.

That's most likely the 3M "Invisible Bra". Costs ~$500, had it done to my car. Works awesome, and saves the front end from looking beat up.

Right, I'm not looking for an permanent clear bra, only something that I would put on while on a road trip- currently I use blue painters tape to mask the front end, but this thing looks like it might be aesthetically better.

I've seen people use that stuff for track days, mostly on newer exotics or other really expensive cars. Doesn't always look great, but it's cheap, does the job, and doesn't come off until you take it off.

It is awesome, I hated all the chips I got on my accord, especially when I lowered it, hopefully this will keep it looking new. Are there any instructions on upkeep? Like replacing after so many yrs or so?

Thanks for the info. The fact that it's cheap and does the job is what I am looking for. As long as it doesn't take off the paint when I remove it, I'm happy.

It's usually a pro-install. You basically do nothing. They put it on, I wax it with the rest of the car once a year, but other than that, you don't need to do anything. Works slick. This is my third vehicle with it, and it just lasts.

I've never seen the temporary one though. But it would be great for road trips like the OP is doing, or going to a car show since it would save you from having to detail the front on arrival.

3M Scotchgard. I've heard good stuff about it but it is pretty pricey.
